Overgrowth of trees, weeds, and other vegetation can lead to erosion. If your property is not draining correctly, other issues can arise. Most drainage problems caused by an abundance of vegetation will start as a small issue. Overgrown plants can quickly become a major concern if not addressed. Georgia Brush Mowing can handle mowing your slopes and retention ponds with advanced equipment and techniques. We are Blue Card certified. COMMON PROBLEMS FOR RETENTION PONDS
Trees and Brush growing in the pond, grass and weed growth, trash, erosion of slopes, blocked inlet/outlet of pipes.
RETENTION PONDS CAN BECOME DESTABILIZED
Pond bottoms, slopes, and banks should be inspected periodically
for signs of erosion, excessive sediment accumulation, and other damage. Bare patches should be reseeded and stabilized quickly to prevent erosion. Woody trees and plants destabilize embankments and should be removed or prevented from growing by routine mowing practices.
RETENTION PONDS CAN BECOME CLOGGED FROM DEBRIS OR OVERGROWN BRUSH
Pond bottoms can become very wet and become a breeding ground for insects, molds, fungi, and bacteria. Improper drainage due to debris or tree root systems can contribute to this. Overgrown shrubs can block the sunlight, furthering the issue.
